Coloma Valley Blues

Christie and Nic PuglieseChristie and Nic Pugliese wrote this song for our talent show a few weeks ago. They did a great job performing it (Nic’s first time playing in front of an audience) and we loved the lyrics, so I’m posting them here:

Well I moved up from L.A, didn’t want to be a movie star.

Moved up to the Coloma Valley, started out at Chili Bar.

Swept around the Racehorse Bend, Met some folks I’d call a friend.

Maya’s Rapids seem to soothe, to the Coloma Valley grooves.

Well there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley

Ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley

Well there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley Blue….

Mother nature showed off her stuff with her majesty African Quenn.

The next turn will keep you guessing, cause Triple Threat can be real mean.

I asked a friend if i could take her, way on down to Trouble Maker.

the South Fork can get real hairy, when approaching Old Man Scary.

But there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley,

Ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley

Well there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley blue…

The paddler’s surfing Barking Dog, like Spacely’s Sprockets not Cogsley’s Cogs.

Can’t put Hospital Bar in my versues, to the Recovery Room with nurses.

This river’s a piece of cake, once you get to Folsom Lake!

Well there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley

Ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley

Well there ain’t no blues in the Coloma Valley blue…Coloma Valley blue..
